The Corsair F4U is one of the most iconic aircraft in the world. To implement the power of its beefy double radial engine, it has a huge propeller. So that the prop didn’t touch the ground, the wings were simply given the well-known wing kink in order to set the propeller axis higher. We have also implemented the powerful propeller in the maxFlite wind spinner aircraft. And yes, it catches a fair amount of wind and lets the Corsair windmill ‘fly’ powerfully through your garden.
The Corsair was the most successful aircraft used by the US Navy on aircraft carriers during World War II. The main purpose of the Corsair can also be seen on the windmill plane from the hook shown, with which the machines could also land on aircraft carriers.
Today the Corsair is known as a star at air shows. Get a piece of aviation history with the striking Corsair as a decorative wind turbine in the garden. You can be sure of the admiration of friends and neighbors.
Remark: maxFlite offers the Corsair in 2 sizes (as XL Version with 80 cm wingspan and more than 3 kg mass; Now new in the classic 40 cm size of the GardenFighter Series).

- Exact aircraft type of the maxFlite windwheel: USN, F4U-1D BuNo 57803, Lieutenant Commander Roger Hedrick, CO VF-84, aircraft carrier USS Bunker Hill in February 1945. The pilot is also detailed on the decoration windmill. Before he committed his first air combat, he had flown more than 200 hours in missions.

- As is typical for carrier aircraft, the F4U has a sophisticated folding mechanism with which the wings can be folded up outside the landing gear to save space.
- The aircraft carrier USS Bunker Hill (CV-17) was so badly hit by two Kamikaze fighters in April 1945 after very successful operations that it was withdrawn to the USA for maintenance.
