Pilatus PC-7

maxFlite’s beautiful Pilatus PC-7 bears the former orange-black colouring of the PC-7 Team. The PC-7 was the first turboprop trainer by Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus, and with over 600 machines built, a true success story.
As is customary for trainers, the PC-7 has tandem seats (the instructor sits behind the student), and is fully capable of aerobatics. maxFlite hopes the carefully designed PC-7 “Gardenfighter” will gain fans far beyond the borders of Switzerland.

Facts & Figures

• Specific maxFlite model: Pilatus PC-7, No. 330, Team PC-7, A-922.
• The “PC-7 Team” is an aerobatics team of the Swiss Air Force, founded in 1989. The team members are all full-time military pilots who usually fly the F/A-18 Hornet.
• The year 2009 saw an unusual incident involving a PC-7 Mk II. A civilian passenger tried to brace himself when he accidentally set off his ejector seat. No one was hurt.
• The PC-7’s first flight took place in 1966, but due to low demand initially, production didn’t take off until 1977. PC-7s have been in high demand ever since, and are still produced today alongside the PC-9 and PC-21.
